Waiting On Wednesday (11): Fallen In Love, Lauren Kate

What is it?
Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted by Breaking The Spine, that spotlights upcoming releases that we're eagerly anticipating.

Pub Date: Jan 25th 2012 by Random House Australia

From Goodreads:
What makes your heart race a little faster? Just in time for Valentine's Day, it's FALLEN IN LOVE, four wholly original new stories collected in a new novel set in the Middle Ages by Lauren Kate. FALLEN IN LOVE gives fans the much-talked about but never-revealed stories of FALLEN characters as they intertwine with the epic love story of Luce and Daniel.

The stories include: Love Where You Least Expect It: The Valentine of Shelby and Miles , Love Lessons: The Valentine of Roland; Burning Love: The Valentine of Arriane; and Endless Love: The Valentine of Daniel and Lucinda.

This one is so SO close now, and I'm really excited. One of the most interesting aspects of the Fallen series is its secondary characters (Cam! Cam! TEAM CAM!), so I'm really anticipating a chance to get to know them better. For obvious reasons, they've taken second place to Daniel and Luce in the past, and I'm relishing a chance to learn their histories :)

The February Valentines Event being run by the fabulous Australian bloggers Lisa and (the diabolical) Brodie have put this series back on my radar in a massive way, because a certain fallen angel and badass demon just might be showing in a love-triangle debate I am SERIOUSLY excited for. Wait... you're not signed up to defend your fave book boyfriend yet? AND ADRIAN AND DIMKA ARE STILL WAITING FOR A DEFENDER? What, precisely, are you waiting for? Go! Go!

  1. Haven't read Fallen series yet. I'm glad you like this series because I've heard mixed things about it. Maybe I will try the first one. Great pick!

  2. @Mesa: I understand why it's been so divisive, but I *DO* like it a lot... with the exception of the second book, Torment. The name is kind of telling.

  4. Why did I take such pleasure in my 'diabolical' title? buahahaha. THANK YOU FOR THE EVENT PIMPAGE!! i love you <333

Also, YES!! So excited for this! I love the secondary characters in this series (much more than Luce and Daniel, to be honest). Cam and Arriane are especially my favourites. So I'm crazy excited to read her love story... ooooh and Roland's!!

  6. @Brodie: BECAUSE YOU KNOW IT'S TRUE XD
And thank YOU for the eventage! I'm SUPER EXCITED!

And SO WITH YOU ON THIS. The secondary characters are SO much more interesting/likable/etc. Luce is a bit of a dumbass, and I don't Daniel is pretty, but not much otherwise :P
I LOVE Arianne and Roland! FTW!

  7. @Sarah: I'm up to date... it was one of the first post-Twilight unfinished series I read, so I've stuck with it :D

  8. To be honest, I haven't enjoyed the Fallen series as much as I really wanted to but I actually can't wait for this book!

Arriane, Roland and Cam are by far my favorite characters so I'm happy to finally be rid of all the Daniel/Luce drama and delve into more interesting POV's. Too bad Cam doesn't get his own story though, the guy seriously needs some love!
