Blogspiration (7): I'm Inspired by... Harry Potter!

Blogspiration is a weekly meme hosted by GrowingUp YA & Saz101. The meme was created to help spark inspiration among bloggers, readers & writers alike. An inspirational quote/picture/video is posted weekly, on the day of the author's choosing, so that it may inspire creativity, conversation & just a little SOMETHING.

From source24.co.cc
This week, to shake things up a little, we're asking you a question:
What book inspires you?
What Book Inspires Me? I don't think my answer will come as a surprise, but I'm inspired by Harry Potter. The imagination, creativity, and the bits of wisdom and bravery throughout the amazing series gets me every single time, every single re-read. I'm inspired by the messages of love and friendship, to be more loving, and and a better friend. I'm inspired to value my family and friends even more, because who knows when the people we love could be stolen from us? Over and over again I'm inspired by the underlying messages of discrimination and classism, and the message that, anyone, no matter how small or insignificant, has the power and capacity for extraordinary change and good in the world.

  10. Awesome post, Sarah! I adore the Harry Potter series! And there are some wonderful little snippets of pure genius - though if I'm honest, I only really see them for how wonderful they are when they're used on their own, like your image. They really get me then. :)

  11. Wow, can I just direct every single person that hasn't read the HP series for whatever reason to this post please? YES. That is what it's all about! I am sososososo inspired by JKR and her stories, not just because they're exciting or well-written or whatever but because they mean something in terms of how our world works and how we need to fix it.

BY THE WAY, I like how you used HP-related things two weeks in a row :D I knew I liked you....

  14. Hey Sarah, you can get the Dark Frost ARC at Netgalley.com if you really want it. I just saw it on there yesterday. I have to read the first two books before I start on Dark Frost. OMG. I have so many books I have to buy. I know this buying session will cost everything I have in my bank account. Oh well. Books are more important than money. lol.

  15. Great post, Sarah. I wish I could say that HP inspired me to read too :(. I really, really NEED to read that series. Anyway, I LOVE the quote. Thanks for sharing.

  16. This seems like such a lame-o comment because basically WORD to everything you said about Harry Potter! It never ever gets old, there's always magic every single time.

  17. Sammie pretty much directed me here when she started talking about you and, geez, I haven't been able to leave since. Your blog has an adorable layout (I'm totally into the color pink!), I love the way you write (really, I do), and if you weren't married (and if this weren't stalkerish at all) I'd probably be proposing to you right now, haha!

I just want to say that, yes, I agree with everything you said about Harry Potter. I think it's taught me life lessons more than practically any other book series has, and it's shown me the importance of crafting a fascinating literary world, too. It's not often that I'm completely drawn into the world of a book while reading, so when I am... it means something. I become inspired. And as an aspiring writer, I just feel like making something as magical but realistic and relevant...

Oh, JKR, I love you. And thank you for writing about this, Sarah!

On a random note, are you on Pottermore? Have you been Sorted? I can't help wondering!

  18. Harry Potter is wonderful! It was so hard to choose this weeks blogspiration because HP was is in my top 5! Great choice!

  19. HARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRYYY!!!! Oh you you summed it up perfectly. How can you beautifully describe the heart of these novels in just one paragraph? it takes me at least 10 and even then, I've completely missed the point!

I am so desperate for a full series reread!

  21. Beautifully articulated and I couldn't agree more, Sarah!

It's such an amazing and inspiring series. In fact, like countless others, I blame my reading obsession on JK Rowling. I have no idea where I'd be if I hadn't picked up that book.

Thank you, thank you, thank you for this post :D It totally made my day!

  22. Also, thank you for being the BEST meme co-host a girl could ever ask for :D
