Blogspiration (25): Thanks, Harry.

Blogspiration is a weekly meme hosted by GrowingUp YA & Saz101. The meme was created to help spark inspiration among bloggers, readers & writers alike. An inspirational quote/picture/video is posted weekly, on the day of the author's choosing, so that it may inspire creativity, conversation & just a little SOMETHING.

Unlike many, I didn't have the pleasure of growing up with Harry. But Harry has shaped who I've become as an adult, taken over my heart, and introduced me to a love of reading and imagination I thought only belonged to those of far less years than me. So from me, too: Thanks Harry. And thank you, thank you, thank you, Jo.

  12. Ah Sarah, I don't think I'll ever again be able to think of Harry Potter without also thinking of you at the same time.

I remember my Dad read the first five HP books to me and my younger brother. He used to read to us every night when we were little - not just HP but Narnia and Prydain and all the rest of them. But by the time the sixth book came around, it was everyone for themselves. I think there was general consensus that we were a bit too grown up by that stage. Fortunately, I have people like you and Faye and Kathe and Kristin and Lauren to stop me from getting TOO grown up. :-)

  14. I owe Harry Potter A LOT. It was one of two books, along with Holes by Louis Sachar, that really got me into reading!!

I honestly don't know who I'd be that book hadn't made its way into my life over 10 years ago!

Also, I should probably thank my daddy for buying the it...

  17. *wipes tear*

This made me so nostalgic. Isn't it sad that the next generation won't know about Harry Potter unless we tell them about it? D:
