Author Appreciation August Is Here

August is here, and it’s time to get excited! Why, you ask? Well, this August is all about your favorite authors. The beautiful Becca Merrick from Reading Wishes and I have been gleefully scheming, and it’s with much excitement we bring you Author Appreciation August!

What Is It?

Author Appreciation August (‘AAA’) is a month dedicated to showing authors we care and appreciate them. Without these amazing super-human beings dedicating their lives and careers—not to mention spare time—to their craft, we wouldn’t have all the books we treasure, obsess over, and fall in love with. Without them, there would be no Harry Potter, no Vampire Academy, and no Hunger Games. Quite simply: we’d live in a world without magic.

Throughout the month we’ll be speaking to your favorite authors about what writing means to them and what they appreciate, so you can appreciate them just a little bit more. Excited? There’s more! There are dozens of prizes to be won, so be sure to stop by, and remember: it’s all about sharing the love!

So... How Does This Work?

Author Appreciation August is about readers giving back, and showing a little appreciation. Throughout the month, we’ll be spotlighting some of our favourite writers, and we’d love you to join in.

If you’re a blogger, and you want to participate it’s simple: write a post talking about your favorite author and add it to the linky. Talk about what they mean to you: say thanks, share the love, or tell a story sharing how they’ve affected you.

If you’re not a blogger, don’t fret! Authors are EVERYWHERE, lurking. Send your favorite author a Tweet, a Facebook message, leave a thoughtful (on topic) comment on their blog, or let them know you love them (though following them to work, or lurking outside their bedroom window is NOT encouraged).

Attention Authors!

This event is all about YOU. We want to give a little something back to show we love and appreciate you, so we have something special planned for you: a giveaway just for authors. Stay tuned, and later in the month, we’ll be bringing you some very special giveaways—our way of saying thanks.

By participating in AAA, whether you’re commenting, promoting—but especially by showing you appreciate your favorite author—you’ll have the chance to win some truly fantastic prizes. Entry is easy! Simply use the Rafflecopter form below.
