Blogspiration (33): An Invitation

Blogspiration is a weekly meme hosted by GrowingUp YA & Saz101. The meme was created to help spark inspiration among bloggers, readers & writers alike. An inspirational quote/picture/video is posted weekly, on the day of the author's choosing, so that it may inspire creativity, conversation & just a little SOMETHING.

Occasionally we like to shake things up around here.
Yep, I know. We’re baddass muthah*uckahs.

Uh… ANYWAY. This week for Blogspiration, instead of the normal ‘anything goes’, we’re posing a question:

You are still totally and COMPLETELY welcome to post another Blogspiration—this is just if you want to do something different, and we’ll return to our regularly scheduled programming next week!

Mmmm... me? I think few of these will truly surprise ;D

  1. Neil Gaiman
  2. Douglas Adams
  3. C.S. Lewis (seated next to Douglas Adams, because THAT conversation would be worth buying tickets for)
  4. The Doctor - though he can sit anywhere he damn well pleases. I believe in the Doctor more passionately and fervently than I ever did Santa.
  5. Dumbledore. For exactly the same reasons as above ;D
  6. Stephen Fry (I think I'd be too intimidated by his intellect to sit directly next to him)
  7. J.K. Rowling

  1. Replies
    1. Of course. It's because we're both excellent selectioneers :D

  2. So. Don't hate me but apart from J.K Rowling...I haven't read any of these authors. *stand back, waiting for you to fire* Nice selection though! *hi5*

    1. Please excuse my inadequate behaviour. If only I was intellectually mature and wise like you.

  3. The Neil Gaiman thing can TOTALLY work! I mean...he's already TWEETED you! You're already besties! DUH!

    1. Have I mentioned I love you? BOTH OF YOU? *HUGGLES*

  4. Great choices! Neil is definitely a great choice!

  5. Whenever this question comes up I'm always intrigued to see who others would choose to invite. I always end up doing the shallow thing and wanting to invite YA boys.

  6. Is it bad that I don't know some of these people?

I wanted to do this blogspiration this week but I already had something else scheduled. This is a hard question though. I can't even think of who I would have chosen.

  7. I don't know some of these people either...but the ones I do recognise are amazing selections. ;) And the Doctor? The most PERFECT choice you could make. ;D

  8. You almost made it through a week without a Harry Potter reference but of course, you snuck it in there. J.K. and Dumbledore... imagine that.

  9. I think your list is pretty much perfect and what I would also pick!

  10. Oh, awesome picks! I would love to see the conversation between Neil Gaiman, Douglas Adams, and Dumbledore. :)

  11. I actually only know Dumbledore and JK Rowling*shrugs* This is a very interesting meme though! Really fun!

  12. OOOOOOOOH. THIS. I LIKE. CAN I COME TO YOUR DINNER? Seriously, that would be so effing awesome. I will sit on the FLOOR, if I have to!

Hmmmm, mine? Off the top of my head (meaning if I gave it more thought, it might be different).

    1. J.K Rowling. OBVIOUSLY.

    3. A... certain channel ten news reporter who I have a crazy crush on. IT'S NOT PURELY SHALLOW,OKAY? He's smart and concerned about human trafficking in particular and he READS and when he lets slip a smile on air and... *shuts up*

    4. Maggie Q or Lydnsy Fonseca - they're both stars on Nikita, but not because I LOVE the show (okay, partly) but they're both vegans and Maggie especially is into a lot of animal rights stuff, so I think they'd be awesome to chat with.

    5. I can't think of his name... but one of the poetry slam champions from.. Australia? I THINK? Ugh. But I loved his entries and they were so thought provoking and compelling and I just think he'd make good company and excellent conversation.

    6. David Belle or Damien Walters - because have an obsession with Parkour and David Belle FOUNDED IT. And Damien Walters is insane with his stuff, so... while the rest of us are eating and being all intelligent with our conversation, those two are jumping and rolling off walls and tables and just HOW COOL would that atmosphere be? Er...

    7. Um... I can't think at this hour of the morning. OH. OH. OH. My boys. Noah Shaw. Adrian Ivashkov. Gabriel Merrick.

Shut up, I can TOTALLY include them in the one place sitting.

    1. 3. *giggles* I might have to start watching channel ten news from now on!

      7. You could include all your bookish boys but you might have to give up your chair and sit in their lap to make it work... Poor, poor Brodie (NOT).

  13. Oooh, Sarah, I didn't end up doing this one this week because I can never think of people for questions like this and I just end up saying, "Honestly and truly, if I got to pick, I'd just want my English family because I don't know them as well as I wish I did. Plus my godparents, because my Dad and my godfather are absolutely hilarious together."
BUT I love your list, and C.S. Lewis would have been on my list too. I think it would be amazing to have been able to sit down and talk theology and Narnia together.
And I'd want someone like Tim Costello from World Vision because just think of all the stories he could share.

  14. You mean Doctor Who? Damn, I really need to start watching this serie! :D :D Haha the comment about believing in him more than in Santa is hilarious!! :D :D hhahaha Sarah you rock! :D ;) <3

  15. Ahhh! This list = PERFECTION!
Neil Gaiman, JK Rowling, Dumbledore, Stephen Fry... THE DOCTOR? I too believe in the Doctor more than I ever believed in Santa growing up! I'm a firm believer that a time travelling mad man in a box (who's regeneration hopefully looks like Ten) is SOMEWHERE out there in space and time.

    AWESOME list haha :)

  16. Psst, Sarah... I don't know if anyone ever told you but... THE DOCTOR ISN'T REAL.

Love your list :D I still haven't read anything by Neil Gaiman (AGHH) but I love the quotes and posts and such that I've read from him! Plus, people like YOU keep telling me about his awesomeness, so... :) Great post this week! I love when we have themes to use!
